The following list contains a number of important organisations that deal with pain and pain treatment. They have been collected by and suggested to the Tietze syndrome and Costochondritis  Association over the course of time. It is by no means meant to be a complete list.

Utrechtse Pain poli  from the Academische hospital AZU
Part of the institute for anaesthesiology. Every year approximately a thousand pain patients are treated here, by a team of anaesthetists, psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers. They work closely together with rehabilitation therapists, neurologists, orthopaedists, plastic surgeons, neuron surgeons and others to relief the pain of cancer patients and patients with chronic, non-malignant pain.

The Foundation Pain-Hope
The Foundation Pain-Hope is an organization for people with chronic pain. The Foundation Pain-Hope has developed into an important support- and information point for people with chronic pain, but also for many workers in healthcare. The employees are people who themselves are suffering from some sort of pain. so they know what they are talking about. Nowadays the Foundation Pain-Hope operates with more than 20 volunteers for a better quality of life for people with chronic pain.

They organize meetings and workshops for fellow-sufferers and professionals on subjects of pain, pain suppression, and the social impact that pain can cause. They represent the interest of pain patients and provide information on pain and treatment.

Dutch Association for pain research
This society’s goal is to promote and improve the scientific study of pain and practical pain suppression in the Netherlands, The D.P.S is the Dutch chapter of the International Association for the Study of Pain (I.A.S.P). The European chapters are joined in the European Pain Federation (EFIC). The D.P.S. did evolve from an association formerly known under the name NVBP (Nederlandse Vereniging ter Besturing van Pijn)

In a Pain Policlinic is a pain team working which is specialized in the treatment of chronic pain patients. It is also a knowledge centre linked to the clinic. Here the pain team conducts medical research  in the perceptions of pain in chronic pain patients and the effects of methods of treatment like physiotherapy, psycho therapy and electro stimulation.
